You took me out
Down the slope
Ridden faintly
For a drink
It wasn’t my desire
You thought it right
In the broken sheets of the bank
I wept
The taste of good
Sleeps in the past
I wanted another now and more
Alternately to please
I drank
I wept
And I died
The cares are no more
Yet I live
From the human sheet
Where compassion should have been
Cruelty rules now.
